Steve Reed steps down from Willowbank Board

Long-standing Willowbank Raceway Board member Steve Reed has announced he will retire after 15 years of service in roder to focus on Top Alcohol and work commitments.

The 1994 Australian Top Alcohol Champion joined the Board in 2000 and was the first Willowbank Competition Eliminatior, now SuperComp, track champion back in 1987.

Reed said the decision to step down from the board was driven by a desire to focus on racing and his businesses.

“This has been something I have been considering for the past 12 months, and I feel now is the right time to move on,” Reed said.

“After 15 years on the Board I think it is time for me to step down and spend more time on my businesses and on just being a racer again. While I have stepped away, I wish them all the best.”

Willowbank Raceway President, Tony Wedlock said Reed’s support over his tenure has been invaluable.

“During his time on the Board our facility has undergone significant change, and on behalf of the Willowbank Raceway Board I would like to thank him for his unwavering support over the past 15 years, and wish him well as he refocuses his concentration on his racing and business activities,” said Wedlock.
