Palmyra Dragway Floods After Being Battered By Cyclone Debbie
Cyclone Debbie has battered Palmyra Dragway with the north Queensland venue also having again been submerged in water.
The Palmyra Drag Racing Club has called for volunteers to help with working bees cleaning up the venue this weekend.
Gates will open from 7:00am, with a request for volunteers to also bring tools to help pull broken fences down.
The latest damage comes after the club had announced the reluctant decision to cut its racing to just the 1/8th mile following a track inspection.
The decision remains in place until the club can rectify track drainage and safety fence issues in the braking area.
The club says competitors found to accelerating past the 1/8 mile finish line will be warned first, with repeat offenders facing exclusion.
