Scott White chasing turn around in Adelaide

Written by Jay Jukes.

Scott White - Pro Stock BikeFor Darwin drag racer Scott White, contesting the ANDRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Championship has been no easy street.

White is located in the Top End of the Northern Territory and as such has to travel long distances to contest the championship. A trip to Sydney with the 300kmh motorcycle can take up to four days.

Then there is the frustration of dealing with one of drag racing's most finicky vehicles. White opened his season in difficult fashion, with parts failures holding back the AMPAC Advanced Warning Systems team from showing its true potential.

Recent testing at Portland's South Coast Raceway in Victoria produced a better result, with White setting a new track record for bikes at 4.729 seconds on the eighth mile venue.

The MSCN awards where raffled with the South Australians cleaning up as Lance Larcombe went home with the tyre gauge and Danny Bucella with the Brad Penn oil.

Gauci finding the Top Alcohol flow

Written by ANDRA.

Rick Gauci - Top AlcoholTop Alcohol returns to Adelaide International Raceway for the Aeroflow Summer Speedfest in just under two weeks and carrying the Aeroflow flag in a big way will be Sydney driver Rick Gauci.

Since the last time Gauci raced at Adelaide in April 2012, he has upgraded the his Ford Mustang Funny Car with better ignition control as he seeks to tame the 1000 feet distance - unique to the Adelaide strip.

"We had traction issues last time as we didn't have an ignition system that allowed us to take timing out and that saw us getting massively sideways," he said. "Now we can apply the power gradually and take advantage of the track where it is good but be prepared for parts where it is tricky."
