Winternationals to stick with Thursday to Sunday format in 2015
Organisers of Australia’s largest drag racing event, the Fuchs Winternationals, have confirmed the 2015 event will follow the same Thursday to Sunday format as this year’s event.
The Fuchs Winternationals will take place Thursday 4 June to Sunday 7 June and following recent changes to the ANDRA calendar will also be the final round of the championship.
According to Willowbank Raceway CEO, Tony Mason, the traditional Thursday to Sunday format proved popular with competitors and fans.
“This year’s event was highly successful, with many national records set as part of hard and close racing held in front of a strong crowd,” Tony Manson said.
“As a result of 2014’s success, we will sticking with the Thursday to Sunday format for 2015 and we certainly expect it to be an awesome event following the recent announcement by ANDRA that the FUCHS Winternationals will once again be the final event of the season.”
Up to 500 competitors are expected to compete across Top Fuel, Top Alcohol, Top Doorslammer, Pro Stock, Top Bike and Pro Stock Motorcycle in the 48th running of the Winternationals.
