White commits to double Australian Nationals duties

Top Alcohol racer Brett White will spend his time at Sydney Dragway’s Australian Nationals juggling racing his own Dragster while also running Jeff Wilson’s Corvette Doorslammer.

White is chasing his first ANDRA Gold Christmas Tree in Top Alcohol, after making the step up from the Sportsman ranks in 2012.

Despite campaigning his own Dragster, White admitted his focus this year has been helping out Jeff Wilson Racing.

“Our priority has been Jeff Wilson’s car, so we haven’t raced the dragster since May. In fact, I’ll be crewing for Jeff at the Nationals as well as driving my car,” he said.

After recording a career best at Sydney last year, White’s crew hopes some electrical upgrades will better that performance.

“We set our personal best at the X-Champs last year with a 5.61-second pass, but the team wants to go quicker. Our goal is to improve on that and hopefully progress through a few rounds,” White said.

“We’ve got a new ignition system with wiring done by Steve Stanic. It’s also had a new paintjob since its last outing so it’s looking pretty flash.”

The Australian Nationals, the ANDRA Championship final, takes place from Friday 31 October to Sunday 2 November. Top Alcohol qualifying runs are scheduled from 12:45 on Saturday with eliminations from 11:45am on Sunday.
