Central Queensland shootout expected in Supercharged Outlaws
Australian Supercharged Outlaws driver Matt Watts is predicting a tight battle when the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship hits Benaraby Nationals this weekend, with several drivers closing in on the category’s maximum 300 points.
Watts heads into the penultimate round at Gladstone’s Benaraby Raceway in fourth position on 190 points and believes the
“Every competitor is tough. Next weekend will be hard as everyone is so close to that maximum points total of 300,” Watts said.
“I haven't raced in Benaraby since last year and I have heard from other racers it's a lot better now. We raced eighth mile last year so the full 1000 feet track this year will be interesting.”
This weekend’s Supercharged Outlaws line up includes 2014 Fuchs Winternationals winner Rodney Hansen and defending champion Luke Marsden and Jake Donnelley, who are all in contention for the 2014 title.
The final round of the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship Supercharged Outlaws takes place at Sydney Dragway as part of the Australian Nationals, 31 October to 2 November.
