As the final preparations are made for this weekend's final round of the 2012 JP Racing Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series at Warwick Dragway (November 10), series organisers have confirmed they will be back to do it all again in 2013.

Full details of the fourth running of the Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series will be announced later this year, with rounds expected to take in this weekend's host track Warwick Dragway as well as Willowbank Raceway, Benarby Dragway and Ironbark Raceway.

JP Racing Eighth Mile Series organiser John Winterburn said he was excited to be able to confirm the series will again take a place amongst the Australian drag racing calendar for a fourth time in 2013.

"Each year we have been blown away by the enthusiasm consistently shown to us by racers, spectators and sponsors; with strong entry lists and much-welcomed support by businesses at each round," said Winterburn.

"This year has been no different, so of course we are excited to be able to say that in 2013 we will be doing it all again for the fourth consecutive year.

"The feedback we have received has been that the racing atmosphere and round robin format the Eighth Mile Series provides are winners – so while more details are still to come, I can promise these two elements will remain unchanged for 2013!

"We will also be looking to grow the new for 2012 bracket of FG Loy and Sons Earthmoving Old School after a promising first year in action.

"While the plans are already falling into place for 2013, we still have another great event ahead of us for 2012 – this weekend's final round at Warwick Dragway.

"With no less than four local racers in the championship hunt amongst an expected entry list of 110 competitors this Saturday, I think it is going to be a great finale for everyone involved!"

Flying the flag for Warwick at this weekend's final round will be Super Streeter Nathan Jannusch, cousins Matthew and Andrew Loy and drag racing patriarch Ian Ham.

Jannusch is currently leading the way in the John William Auto Sales Super Street bracket, while Matthew Loy is nipping at the heels of the points leader in the Diamond T Products Junior Dragster class and his cousin Andrew is chasing the third-placed Ham in the RD Williams Excavator Parts Modified category.

The 2012 JP Racing Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series is in its third year and this weekend's final round will feature racing from Diamond T Products Junior Dragster, Queensland Nameplate Group Modified Bike, John Williams Auto Sales Super Street, Ice Slushee Super Sedan, RD Williams Excavator Parts Modified and the FG Loy and Sons Earthmoving Old School.
