New VDRC committee elected

Earlier this month the Victorian Drag Racers Club elected their new committee for 2013. Michael Bibby was elected President, supported by Wayne Cartledge as Vice President. Doina Day continues her role as treasurer and Ian Smith has joined the committee as secretary.

Other members of the committee include Luke Cartledge, Derek Newman and Paul Rogers Snr. The club thanked outgoing President Shane Baxter and Secretary Neil Hendry for their hard work and commitment over the past 12 months.

“I must say thank you to all members that voted for me as President. I personally consider it a privilege to be the President of our great club that has a great history & plan to move the club forward,” said Michael Bibby, long time club member and Victorian Super Gas Racer.

The new committee will be meeting in January before the next club meeting to set out an agenda for the next 12 months including guest speakers and social events.

For some time now the VDRC has been looking for a permanent venue for meetings and functions. Wayne Cartledge has kindly offered the use of his factory to the club in the short term until a permanent location is found.

The next club meeting will be on Tuesday, January the 15th from 7pm at 31 Export Road Craigieburn. The VDRC will be putting on a BBQ for members with meat and salads provided. Members are to bring their own chairs and drinks.

“There will be a lot of things that the members will be asked to vote on at the January meeting so could all please make the effort to come and bring your crew members as we would love to see them at the club,” said Michael.
