"We feel the time is right to make the move," smiled Shane.

"Our team achieved some pretty cool things racing domestically but we want to race with the best and that means racing in the US.

"It was a tough decision and one that took a great deal of deliberating, Mum and Dad have guided me every step of the way and I'm sure they are just as excited as I am with what the future may hold."

The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series tour passes through 20 cities in all regions of the United States, bringing the show to millions of fans each year.

The RTR team will be attending and racing at eight events on the 2014 NHRA calendar and Shane Tucker is no stranger to NHRA competition having completed his licensing with the Cagnazzi team whilst in the US.

Father Rob explained, "We will continue to run Kirsten (Tucker) in Australia under the Rob Tucker Racing banner during the 2014 season. But RTR HQ will now be based out of the US and Shane will step up to the 500 cube car."

Rob Tucker Racing will draw on the experience gained through more than 25 years of involvement in drag racing and bring the team's professionalism, image and fierce competitiveness to the NHRA series with a view to taking wins.

"We are not going to make up the numbers," said Shane solemnly.

"More than anything else, we owe a lot to the Australian scene and we feel like Pro Stock back home is up there with the toughest competition in the world. From all of our team at RTR, we would like to thank our fans. We will certainly be doing our best to keep the Australian Drag Racing community updated as we take the next step."
