Peter Kapiris - Slamfest

Next weekend's on-track action at Benaraby Raceway (29 June) for round three of the 2013 Slamfest Series will not only feature 28,000 horses worth of Top Doorslammer action but also the belief-defying antics of three of Australia's most recognised stunt riders.

Now entering its fourth year, the Slamfest Series sees Top Doorslammer racers from around the country competing across the eighth-mile distance at Australia's regional tracks.

At Benaraby Raceway's round of the Series, eight 3,500hp Top Doorslammer machines will be joined on track by Matt Mingay - one of the country's most famous stunt bike performers – and his Stuntz Inc crew riders Allan 'Nads' Morrisson and Dan Milne.

The Stuntz Inc crew is well-known across the country as official on-track entertainment providers for the V8 Supercars Australia Series and Mingay's stunt credentials – which include work as a stunt double for Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 2 and the completion of the world's longest 'wheelstand' on a Harley Davison at 54 kilometres – are unquestionable.

"We have been on track for quite a few rounds of the Slamfest Series already and let me tell you, they always deliver fantastic racing," said Mingay.

"We can't wait to get on track in Gladstone for Benaraby Raceway's round of the Series. The crew and I are getting ready to put on some awesome performances for the crowd to back-up the thrilling action of the Top Doorslammers – it is going to be a great day out that is for sure!"

Slamfest Series co-owner Peter Kapiris, also the champion of the 2012 Series, said it was as an honour to be able to bring someone of Mingay's reputation to the people of Gladstone for next weekend's round three of the 2013 Series.

"Almost everyone knows who Matt Mingay is, the man is a legend in Australian motorsport especially for those who love their motorbikes," said Kapiris.

"We love having Matt and his crew on-track for the Slamfest Series as they never fail to have the crowd on their feet with their crazy antics and belief-defying stunts. To be honest I can't think of a better on-track partner for eight roaring Top Doorslammers than these guys!"

Kapiris will be joined on-track in the Top Doorslammer field next weekend by Victor and Ben Bray, John Zappia, Gary Phillips, Russ Pavey, Murray O'Connor and Grant O'Rourke.

Before the on-track festivities get underway, a special off-street meet will be held on Friday afternoon at Harbour City Harley-Davidson (85 Hanson Road, Gladstone), with Mingay on hand to sign autographs from 4.00pm to 5.00pm before undertaking a demo for the fans in the shop's carpark.

Come Saturday 29 June, the gates will open at 8.00am with racing commencing at midday. Children aged 12 years and under gain free entry when accompanied by an adult while those aged 13 to 17 years (as well as concession holders) can purchase tickets for just $20.00. Adult passes are available for $35.00 while family passes (2 adults and 2 kids) are available for just $70.00.
