FUCHS Winternationals to Continue in 2014 with new deal signed

FUCHS Lubricants will continue as the naming rights sponsor of Australia's largest drag racing event – June's FUCHS Winternationals.

FUCHS Lubricants (Australasia) Managing Director Wayne Hoiles said the many benefits enjoyed by the company through its Willowbank Raceway partnership made the decision to extend the relationship an easy one.

"FUCHS Lubricants is a long-time supporter of motorsport and Australian drag racing," Hoiles said.

So far, we've enjoyed two years of partnership with Queensland's premier drag racing facility Willowbank Raceway and the largest championship drag racing event held outside of the US – the FUCHS Winternationals.

"The event has such a vibrant history as a leading light in the Australian drag racing scene, so I am very excited to be able to confirm that we will be continuing our support of Willowbank Raceway."

Willowbank Raceway, established in 1985 is Queensland's premier drag racing facility. Willowbank Raceway CEO Tony Manson said he was pleased to see the strong relationship with FUCHS Lubricants continuing to prosper.

"The continuing support of our Raceway and the FUCHS Winternationals by such an outstanding and internationally significant company is really positive," said Manson.

"As a lynch-pin in the Australian drag racing calendar, the FUCHS Winternationals attracts up to 500 racers from all across the country and even overseas, as well as tens of thousands of spectators from far and wide.

"In 2014 the event will return to the traditional Thursday to Sunday format much to the delight of racers, sponsors and fans alike, with four massive days of racing set to be held from Thursday 5 June to Sunday 8 June 2014."

The 2014 FUCHS Winternationals will feature Top Fuel, Top Alcohol, Top Doorslammer, Pro Stock, Top Fuel Motorcycle and Pro Stock Motorcycle.

Other categories will include Competition, Super Stock, Super Compact, Competition Bike, Supercharged Outlaws, Modified, Super Sedan, Super Street, Modified Bike, Junior Dragster and Super Gas.
