BOY RACER TO TAKE ON THE BEST AT WILLOWBANK RACEWAY
Six-year-old Rocker (Tappet) Cover Racer Lincoln Clarke is set to shine at next weekend’s Australian Rocker Cover Nationals, with the youngster competing in the children’s category with his miniature model based on the popular Sandman Panel Van.
Clarke, from Woodend in Victoria, impressed last year with a win in the same category – and is keen for more success in 2014.
“I like to win, and racing at Willowbank last year was really fun,” Lincoln said.
“I hope I can win again this year and beat my big brother Jake and everyone else including the adults – that would be really great, it should be fun!”
Rocker (Tappet) Cover Racing encourages competitors to create either a ‘speed’, ‘tribute’ or ‘wild thing’ car from a standard rocker cover. Clarke’s model is based on the car which his grandfather drove in the 1970s.
The Australian Rocker Cover Nationals form part of the Shannons Queensland Autospectcular, held at Willowbank Raceway next weekend.
Willowbank Raceway CEO Tony Manson said the Shannons Queensland Autospectacular was the perfect place for auto enthusiasts to get their fix.
“The Shannons Queensland Autospectacular is a truly great event offering something for every motoring enthusiast,” said Manson.
“There are tonnes of activities for a great value fun-filled family day, with tickets for spectators just $10 for adults with children 13 and under enjoying free entry.”
The Queensland Auto Spectacular Gates will be held at Willowbank Raceway on Sunday 6 April, with gates open to the public at 7.00am.
