Outlaw Nitro Funny Car racer Glen Moore is heading to the Australian Nationals with plenty of confidence as his Bad to the Bone Trans Am was once in the hands of former NHRA racer Kenny Bernstein.

The Trans Am, one of the brightest Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars in the paddock with its Bad to the Bone livery, was once Bernstein’s 2006 Monster Energy car.

“The car has some great history,” explained Moore, who started his ANDRA drag racing career in Super Sedan.

“Bad to the Bone started its life as Kenny Bernstein’s Monster Energy race car for the 2006 season and it was also one of his more successful cars in his later years in NHRA competition.

“In 2006, Kenny logged four event wins and three runner up finishes, that had him finish third in the final points standings.”

A careful eye can spot the Monster Energy badges around the car and the chassis, which are an acknowledgement of this car’s fantastic history.

“We have kept them there,” said Moore.

Like all of the drivers in Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars, Moore is keen to get the car onto the track in Sydney – with the Trans Am looking more consistent in the previous rounds.

“It’s one of the best race tracks on the planet, of course I am keen,” laughed the Queenslander.

“The track preparation and surface will be first class and we’ll throw everything at it. I’m originally from Wollongong and started racing at the old Eastern Creek, so this is like a home race!”

“My guys are pumped and we just want to get this hot rod on the startline, it’s time to lean on this thing and see just how fast we can go!”

The Australian Nationals get underway at Sydney Dragway this Friday.
