Fire in the sky for Outlaw Funny Car Night of Fire show

Organisers of the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car Night of Fire have confirmed an air show display featuring a A-37B Dragonfly Ground Attack Jet Fighter over Sydney Dragway.

Powered by twin General Electric J85-17A turbojet engines, the A-37B Dragonfly produces a staggering 2850lbs of thrust and is capable of exceeding 750 km/h.

Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car series manager Steve Bettes said patrons are in for a unique experience.

“If you haven’t seen this plane before, you are in for a treat,” Bettes said.

“It’s loud, incredibly fast and very agile, watching Chad at work in this machine is worth the admission price on it’s own, it’s awesome to watch just how impressive it is.”

Captain Chad Dunn, the former Chief Pilot at Fighter Combat International, will pilot the Dragonfly.

“I can’t wait to put on a show for the fans at Sydney Dragway, this is a great event and we are glad we can add to the fun for the crowd,” Dunn said.

“I know drag racing fans like noise and speed, so we don’t have to hold back, we can really have some fun.”

The Night of Fire event will have no shortage of flames, with a fire cannon show on top of a strong Outlaw Nitro Funny Car field.
