Top Fuel for two – the ride of a lifetime

Have you ever dreamed of taking a ride in a top fuel dragster, to feel the power that only nitro methane can deliver?

Well now you can!

In an Australian first, Michael 'Gup' Gilbert rolled out his new 2 seater Top Fuel Dragster at Queensland Raceway for Powercruise #43.

Gup's 2 seater Top Fuel Dragster is the real deal. In fact it's the 2011 Championship winning car of Top Fuel ace Darren Morgan.

The car was put through its paces with a media representative from Channel 7 and Channel 10 taken on the ride of a lifetime.

With Darren Morgan at the controls, the wide eyed passengers were treated to an experience they will never forget, getting strapped into an 8,000 horsepower Top Fuel Dragster and enjoying the thrill of a long and smokey burnout down Queensland Raceway's main straight.

The two seat Top Fueler comes to life at Murray Anderson's workshopOne of the lucky passengers was Amanda Abate, a Brisbane journalist from Channel 7.

"Wow! What an experience," said Amanda. "I think for me the most terrifying thing was the tight fit, with all the fire gear, harness, helmet and neck brace; terrifying but very, very safe."

"Once out on the track I was nervous but Darren and the team are true professionals."

"It was so exciting, so much fun. We took off down the track and I really enjoyed the ride. I did scream just a little towards the end but no one could hear me," laughed Amanda.

"We thrashed to put the car together for Gup in 4 weeks," said Darren. "Murray Anderson did the chassis work and it's all the latest SFI spec."

"There are thousands of people out here at Power Cruise #43 today and they've been blown away by the beast with two seats. The crowd was buzzing.
