Specialist news content and public engagement agency, Veracity Media has acquired dedicated Australian drag racing website JustDragRacing.com.
First published in July last year, JustDragRacing.com has quickly established itself and boasts a solid and increasing following with almost 40,000 unique users.
Veracity Media & Communications Pty Ltd managing director, Gerald McDornan said the acquisition was a strategic development for the company.
"The return of championship drag racing to Melbourne and Adelaide after a long absence has given it a renewed national presence, so it is an exciting time for the sport," McDornan said.
"My own media career began in the sport, commentating on the drag races at Calder Park Raceway, and I have always remained passionate about it.
"There are now no regular, dedicated drag racing magazines on the newsstands and the sport's loyal followers, competitors and sponsors deserve a professional, reliable and up-to-date news source.
"Digital media consumption continues to rise at a rapid rate and continuously updated websites and social media channels are becoming the preferred avenue for news and feature content.
"We have been looking for an opportunity to further utilise our in-house resources and grow our business and JustDragRacing.com is good commercial prospect that comes to us at just the right time."
McDornan said JustDragRacing.com would take advantage of Veracity Media's resources that include fulltime staff and in-house multimedia production capabilities.
"The initial plan is for the site to undergo a slight transformation in its appearance, becoming more commercial and professional, while we will introduce more timely news, feature stories and exclusive video content," he said.
"Our goal is for JustDragRacing.com to not just become the number one independent source of news and content for Australian drag racers and fans, but build a world class website.
"We want to drive the quality of drag racing coverage to new levels, and that will benefit the sport."
