Fast female drag racers Nikki Hepburn and Michelle Davies have confirmed that they will be joining the 200-strong Outlaw 10.5 category field at this weekend’s one-day Brisbane Jamboree.

Davies, billed as the world’s fastest woman on a 10.5-inch tyre, will be making her Willowbank Raceway debut supported by her husband and sons who also race junior dragsters in Sydney.

“I have only ever raced at Sydney Dragway, so I’m looking forward to getting on-track at Willowbank which I hear is awesome and fast,” Davies said.

“This will also be my first Jamboree event, and I can’t wait to get on track in the 10.5 class in my beautiful LX Torana Hatchback.

“Watch out boys! You won’t be able to miss it – painted in House of Kolor’s Black Diamond paint and airbrushed head to toe with flames, clowns and angels by Joe Webb at Bad Image. She certainly stands out!”

Joining Davies will be 24-year-old Nikki Hepburn, who is set to make her third appearance at the Brisbane Jamboree – and is looking forward to the new one-day format.

“It’s an awesome and well-run event with a great atmosphere,” said Hepburn.

“It should be especially big this year, with the new one day format guaranteeing it is going to be action-packed start to finish.

“We’ll be doing all we can to run our first 6-second pass in my Gemini twin-turbo big block – fingers crossed!” said Hepburn, whose personal best Elapsed Time in her Gemini is currently 7.03 seconds, the fastest in the country.

It’s likely that more than 200 racers will join Hepburn and Davies across a range of Sport Compact classes.

Off-track, the Brisbane Jamboree’s activities include a Motive DVD Drift Exhibition, competitions, the Just Car Show n Shine, traders and much more.
