Lamattina to pilot Outlaw Nitro Funny Car in Sydney

Written by LTFR.

In And Out Nitro Funny CarANDRA Top Fuel racer, Phil Lamattina, will turn his attention to the new Outlaw Nitro Funny Car class as he gets behind the wheel of a former NHRA Championship winning nitro funny car.

"The car looks like it's brand new, I have to thank Graeme Cowin for sourcing the car for our team, it's a nice bit of gear," exclaimed Lamattina.

"This car has got an amazing history and I'm looking forward to getting behind the wheel of this thing, it's going to be an animal," smiled the carrot king.

"Aaron (Hambridge) is going through the car along with the Graeme (Cowin) and we are all just really excited about the event. It's not every day you drive a nitro funny car, it's not every day you get a chance to write history and it's certainly not every day you get to race a guy like Ron Capps."

Written by ANDRA.

Stuart Bishop - Top DoorslammerSteering a 3500 horsepower, supercharged Top Doorslammer down a narrow strip of bitumen and accelerating to 400kmh in just six seconds might be the second most intense thing Queensland drag racer Stuart Bishop has ever done in Adelaide.

The Lady Daly Hotel Springnationals at Adelaide International Raceway will mark the first time Bishop has raced in the ANDRA Drag Racing Series in South Australia but he is by no means a stranger to the region, especially its waters, having spent a lot of time there in his competitive sailing days.

"I love Adelaide and we used to have a lot of the Olympic sailing trials there, so all around Brighton and Seacliff is my old stomping ground," he said.
