Despite searing temperatures in the second round of the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship at the Perth Motorplex, six new national records have been ratified by ANDRA.

Three competitors set both ends of their respective quarter-mile national records: Rob Pilkington, Jake and Jamie Chaisty, and Brenton Baxter.

Lamattina drove his Fuchs dragster to a 4.651-second/324.90mph win in Top Fuel over Mark Sheehan's 4.753/261.62 – the stout final ending one of the best nitro shows seen in this country.
