His nearest rival is Victorian Glenn Wooster. The pair has been battling it out all year with White currently holding a narrow three-point lead over Wooster, who sits in fifth.

Peter Baczynski - Old SchoolGladstone will play host to the final round of the 2013 JP Racing Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series later this month when an estimated 100 plus racers head to Benaraby Raceway for the fourth and final round of the Series on Saturday 28 September.

Racers from across South East Queensland will head to Benaraby to fight for titles in six different race brackets, with the points chase the closest ever seen in the Series' four year history.

Series organiser John Winterburn said that local Gladstone racers will face off against competitors who call the racing facilities of Warwick, Roma and Willowbank home, in the final hurrah for the 2013 Series which brings prestige racing to the regional facilities of South East Queensland.

Adelaide all speed and sails for Stuart Bishop

Written by ANDRA.

Stuart Bishop - Top DoorslammerSteering a 3500 horsepower, supercharged Top Doorslammer down a narrow strip of bitumen and accelerating to 400kmh in just six seconds might be the second most intense thing Queensland drag racer Stuart Bishop has ever done in Adelaide.

The Lady Daly Hotel Springnationals at Adelaide International Raceway will mark the first time Bishop has raced in the ANDRA Drag Racing Series in South Australia but he is by no means a stranger to the region, especially its waters, having spent a lot of time there in his competitive sailing days.

"I love Adelaide and we used to have a lot of the Olympic sailing trials there, so all around Brighton and Seacliff is my old stomping ground," he said.

Pressure on Peter Kapiris at penultimate round

Written by ANDRA.

Peter Kapiris - Top DoorslammerPeter Kapiris is in prime position to earn a second ANDRA Top Doorslammer championship and the Lady Daly Hotel Springnationals at Adelaide International Raceway from September 20 to 21 could be the point where it is wrapped up.

Kapiris is currently 96 points ahead of his nearest rival, five times champion John Zappia. Also still in the hunt is six times champion Victor Bray.

If Kapiris can stretch his lead to over 118 points then the championship will be entirely his, while anything over a lead of 98 points means he just has to make a qualifying pass at the season-ending Australian Nationals in Sydney to seal the deal.

O'Connor eyes best ever finish to season

Written by ANDRA.

Murray O'Connor - Top DoorslammerMurray O'Connor has enjoyed one of his best seasons yet in the ANDRA Top Doorslammer series and he hopes his privateer outfit can continue to be a rival to bigger, more well-funded teams.

This weekend O'Connor will be transporting his 3500 horsepower Ford Falcon to Adelaide International Raceway where he will take part in the penultimate round of the championship – the Lady Daly Hotel Springnationals.

Currently sitting fifth in the points, O'Connor is hopeful he can move into fourth if results go his way and earn his best ever result in the Top Doorslammer category.

Victor and Ben Bray - Top DoorslammerTeam Bray Racing's Victor and Ben Bray will be on track at Adelaide International Raceway later this month for the Spring Nationals - the first ANDRA Top Doorslammer National Championship Round ever held at the venue since 2000.

The Spring Nationals comes after two exhibition events for the category at the South Australia venue, held in November of 2011 and November of 2012. Both occasions resulted in a Bray versus Bray finale, with the father and son team now holding a win apiece.

"The first time we visited AIR for the Top Doorslammer category was in November of 2011, with Ben taking the win from an all-Bray finale in front of thousands of delighted fans," said six-time back-to-back Top Doorslammer champion Victor Bray.

Zappia: It's all in Kapiris' hands

Written by ANDRA.

John Zappia - Top DoorslammerJohn Zappia is used to late season charges to earn his five Top Doorslammer titles but says for this season it is points leader Peter Kapiris' championship to lose with just two events remaining.

The Top Doorslammer field heads to Adelaide International Raceway (AIR) from September 20-21 for the Lady Daly Hotel Springnationals and Zappia says his Fuchs team will need nothing short of perfection to be in the running.

"I need to do everything possible to win it and it's all in Peter's hands to lose it," he said. "If Peter doesn't do anything wrong he can't lose.

"I'd rather be on top but there's many of our championships we've won coming from behind. A couple of first round loses for anyone can turn it all around."

Late season charge on Wooster's mind

Written by ANDRA.

Glenn Wooster - Pro Stock MotorcycleVictorian Pro Stock Motorcycle racer Glenn Wooster is hoping a strong finish to the ANDRA season will see him able to better a career best of fourth position in the points, with three events remaining for the year.

Out of all the ANDRA pro categories, Pro Stock Motorcycle will be the busiest in coming months with next month's round at the Lady Daly Hotel Springnationals in Adelaide, Fuchs Nitro Thunder presented by Crow Cams in Melbourne and the Australian Nationals in November.

Wooster said his Wheelie Waste team will need a good start to the trio of events, beginning with Adelaide International Raceway (AIR).

"If we could kick some goals in Adelaide then it will certainly help get us on the right track to improving our championship position," he said. "We have the right people behind us including Trevor Birrell who has a lot of experience racing at AIR."
