Pressure on for points leader Jason Grima

Jason Grima - Pro StockANDRA Pro Stock Championship point's leader Jason Grima will feel the pressure when his PC Group Ford Mustang rolls into Adelaide International Raceway for the second time this season. He has a slight 18-point lead over his nearest competitor and there are just two rounds left!

Back in October 2012, it was at the first round of the Pro Stock championship where vandals had damaged the AIR surface prior to the event. The drivers deemed the track unsafe for competition and were awarded 40 points apiece.

As such the Lady Daly Spring Nationals on September 20-21, will see the Sydney racer make his official AIR Pro Stock appearance on the South Australian track.

ANDRA releases 2014 calendar

ANDRA 40 Years LogoANDRA has released its historic 2014 calendar for both the ANDRA Drag Racing Series and the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship.

In response to racers, the season has transitioned into a calendar year for the first time since the nineties, running from January through to December.

There will be 14 events in the ANDRA Drag Racing Series which is comprised of the six professional Australian drag racing categories Top Fuel, Top Doorslammer, Top Alcohol, Pro Stock, Top Bike and Pro Stock Motorcycle.

280 entrants ready to shine at Willowbank Jamboree this weekend

The Brisbane Jamboree, to be held across Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September 2013 at Queensland's premier drag racing facility, will host a wide range of activities including on-track drag racing, two show and shines, dyno and sound-off competitions and more.

More than 280 entrants have already taken advantage of the pre-event online entry option for this massive weekend, signing up to take part in a range of activities from on-track drag racing to off-track competitions.

Jamboree organiser Ray Box said the 23rd running of the popular automotive event is expected to host around 10,000 spectators over its two days.

Jess Turner totally wild for Aeroflow championship

Jess Turner - ModifiedRising star Jess Turner could be on her way to a top ten finish in the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship in her first full season of Modified – and all before she has even finished high school.

The 18 year old Victorian driver currently sits eighth in the standings and with this weekend's Lady Daly Hotel Springnationals at Adelaide International Raceway is poised to make a move even further up the ranks.

Racing comes naturally for Turner, who earned her licence for the 250kmh dragster before her one for the street and is currently completing Year 12.

Scott White looking for first win this Spring

Scott White - Pro Stock MotorcycleScott White makes his way to Adelaide this weekend for the Lady Daly Hotel Spring Nationals sitting in fourth place in the 2012-13 ANDRA Pro Stock Motorcycle championship.

After four rounds in the championship, White's best finish this season so far was at the Nitro Champs where he qualified second, held Top Speed in qualifying and went out in the semi finals.

His nearest rival is Victorian Glenn Wooster. The pair has been battling it out all year with White currently holding a narrow three-point lead over Wooster, who sits in fifth.

O'Connor eyes best ever finish to season

Murray O'Connor - Top DoorslammerMurray O'Connor has enjoyed one of his best seasons yet in the ANDRA Top Doorslammer series and he hopes his privateer outfit can continue to be a rival to bigger, more well-funded teams.

This weekend O'Connor will be transporting his 3500 horsepower Ford Falcon to Adelaide International Raceway where he will take part in the penultimate round of the championship – the Lady Daly Hotel Springnationals.

Currently sitting fifth in the points, O'Connor is hopeful he can move into fourth if results go his way and earn his best ever result in the Top Doorslammer category.

All roads lead to Gladstone – Benaraby to host eighth mile grand finale

Peter Baczynski - Old SchoolGladstone will play host to the final round of the 2013 JP Racing Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series later this month when an estimated 100 plus racers head to Benaraby Raceway for the fourth and final round of the Series on Saturday 28 September.

Racers from across South East Queensland will head to Benaraby to fight for titles in six different race brackets, with the points chase the closest ever seen in the Series' four year history.

Series organiser John Winterburn said that local Gladstone racers will face off against competitors who call the racing facilities of Warwick, Roma and Willowbank home, in the final hurrah for the 2013 Series which brings prestige racing to the regional facilities of South East Queensland.
