Scott White chasing turn around in Adelaide

Written by Jay Jukes.

Scott White - Pro Stock BikeFor Darwin drag racer Scott White, contesting the ANDRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Championship has been no easy street.

White is located in the Top End of the Northern Territory and as such has to travel long distances to contest the championship. A trip to Sydney with the 300kmh motorcycle can take up to four days.

Then there is the frustration of dealing with one of drag racing's most finicky vehicles. White opened his season in difficult fashion, with parts failures holding back the AMPAC Advanced Warning Systems team from showing its true potential.

Recent testing at Portland's South Coast Raceway in Victoria produced a better result, with White setting a new track record for bikes at 4.729 seconds on the eighth mile venue.

Proceedings kicked off with a test and tune on Saturday night with a number of competitors testing their combinations and getting a handle on the track conditions. A low light of the evening saw Graham Hargrave's Camaro receive substantial damage when the car got loose and ended up in the wall.

Adelaide's Bruno Romeo had a stellar event as he top qualified and then won the event. Matty Forbes qualified second and once again was the bridesmaid with another runner-up finish but this was enough to give him the series lead.

Newcomer to the series Danny Buccella had the best average qualifying ET with an average of seven thousandths under the 6.30 index followed by Matt with a fifteen hundredths over average.

The MSCN awards where raffled with the South Australians cleaning up as Lance Larcombe went home with the tyre gauge and Danny Bucella with the Brad Penn oil.
