Super Sedan and Street Bike finals stood out due to the fact that none of the series leaders made it through to the final round. Street Bike had Brandt McGlade defeat Josh Schuit, leaving the championship tied for first place between Darren Savage and Mark Tattingham. A final rule interpretation is outstanding on how to split the two leaders.

While in Super Sedan, it was Mick Dureau who took out the win against Daniel Forman, running a 10.322 on a 10.23 dialin against Forman's 9.876 on a 9.84 dialin. After winning four out of seven rounds this year, Grant Rowe took out the 2012 series for the category with his closest rivals a distant 70 points behind.

For Ben Bray the 2012 Brisbane Jamboree was a dream come true. Only taking delivery of the Ness Racecraft chassis four and half weeks ago, Ben, his crew and some loyal supporters worked over time just to get the car finished and ready for qualifying for the largest Hi-Tech drag racing and import car event.

Jumping into a new car with a smaller cubed engine, a turbo charger, a four speed gear box, plus competing against the best racers in the country on your second full pass in the car was a big ask.

But Benny did it - he qualified at the Jamboree and pulled off the biggest upset in the history of Pro Compact to come away with a win.

Four out of the seven categories are going to have their finalists decided with Super Street, Street, Street Bike, and Junior Dragsters all having the potential for upsets.

Peter Coles is one competitor madly preparing for his final run of the year. After damaging his 1968 Camaro last meeting he has been waiting for parts to arrive from America. With the delivery unconfirmed he has borrowed parts locally and he has until Saturday to completely rebuild the supercharged V8 that hurtles the Camaro down the quarter mile in 6 seconds.

It has been a quiet month for me with Melbourne’s winter keeping us inside out of the cold. That also means away from the workshop where it is also too cold to go unless I need to do something specific. It does however give me lots of time to think about racing and things I can do to improve the GXP outside of the engine program that Peter and Arthur are taking care of.

Even though it has been cold and wet down here in Melbourne I have been concentrating on some small adjustments to the GXP while getting it ready for the 2013 season. I have fitted a new diff centre with a different ratio and freshened the transmission ready for the new engine to be completed very soon. I have made some other minor changes to the setup which should see some improvements on the track. We will see if I have been successful in November when I head up to Sydney to test prior to the Australian Nationals.

Robin Judd is an accountant by profession, specialising in planning and budgeting. One of the 1^st things most accountants will tell you is ‘invest your hard earned in income producing assets’. In other words, don’t buy a drag car and go racing unless you can make it work financially.

After spending some time in the stands at Ravenswood Raceway in Perth, Robin decided to try his hand at operating a racing business so jumped head-first into the drag racing game back in 1998. It’s been an interesting, often exhilarating and sometimes frustrating journey for Robin and his team.

After 14 years of running in ANDRA Top Doorslammer, Robin decided to call it quits after the Winternationals in June 2012.

I had a quick chat with Troy today and he’s a happy bloke to be taking home the prize. Troy, an auto electrician, is currently putting together a Super Sedan to compete at the Perth Motorplex and hopes to be ready next season.
